I am starting to get the hang of this...

So I think that I have found the three products that I need to get my hair straight and soft! I thought I would give the straightening thing another go, but I knew moisture was the key. So I went to CVS (yes CVS) to find a deep conditioning hair mask and I came across Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Time Renewal Replenishing Mask. I have almost bought this mask before, so I figured that I would give it a go. I washed with one of my Wen cleansers (I used Sweet Almond Mint) and used the Pantene Mask (left on for 5 min, while I was in the shower). My hair felt soooooooo incredibly soft after the Pantene Mask. I am sold on this stuff and I can't wait for it to on sale so I can stock up on it. I towel dried my hair and found an old favorite in my closet - Fantasia Hair Heat Protector Straightening Serum. I used a generous amount of the serum and then below out my hair. I swear my hair hasn't felt this soft ever. I pulled out the Chi and flat ironed my hair and I must say, I did a damn good job. I am debating whether I should wrap my hair or roll it up tonight. I am so happy that I can get my hair straight. I just wish that I figurd this out at the beginning of the winter and not the end!!!

Blown out!

I know I know... I had to "break" my hiatus to share my new 'do with yall.  I blew out my hair on Saturday and hot curled it.  I didn't press or flat iron my hair first, I just simply blew it dry, as straight as possible, and then used my ceramic curling iron and I am really happy with the result. I have been using the heat protectant by Motions, but I don't know if I really like it. I have also tried the Chi heat protectant and I didn't like how my hair felt after using it.  Does anyone have any suggestions for good heat protectants?

When I touched up my curls on Sunday, I did use some beeswax and I like the soft hold I got.  In order to maintain the culrs, I have been rolling my hair at night (blast from the past - I can't remember the last time I rolled my hair lol), so I won't have to keep putting heat on my hair in the morning.  Sunday night, I used hard pink rollers and the result was so so.  Last night I used the pink spongy rollers with the papers and it came out just right.  Bouncy, curly and big!  Yall know I love BIG hair!  I haven't had a problem keeping it straight other than my ends.  My ends never want to cooperate.  I'm sure after kickboxing tomorrow, my hair will be a mess, but oh well.

I'll post some more pictures tonight, but I will definitely do this again.  I love how my color looks when I use heat on it.  Maybe I won't go ligther this summer after all - I am so torn!

(another) hiatus

*sigh*

I'm sure yall are sick of me and my hiatuses, but unless something dramatic happens with my hair, I am going to be incognito for the next couple of months. I am taking a gmat prep class and I really want to buckle down so I only take the GMATs one more time! Can someone please say "AMEN" to that? So stay beautiful and natural, lovlies. I'll be back soon.

Hugs.

So I got bored...

... a found two reddish color rinses in my closet.  I mixed the two and ended up with an enhanced red head.  I kinda like it (not sure if you can tell from the pictures).  It was a nice temporary change, since it will all wash out in a couple washes.  I also decided to stop being lazy and I dry twisted my hair.  I have gotten pretty good at it and it STILL takes me at least an hour to do *sigh*.  I guess no one told me that natural hair was any quicker, but damn!

I did all of this only after a failed attempt at using the Wet Set Pudding to wear my hair curly.  As usual, my hair was super cute right after the product was in, but as it started to try, my curls started to shrink up more and more and needless to say I looked like a poodle.  I am dreading the hot weather and humidity because my dry twists won't last as long.  Hopefully I'll come up with another 'do before then, otherwise, I will be rockin' some shrunkin puff all summer.  UGH!

I finally washed my hair (it's a damn shame I waited this long)

So I (finally) washed my hair last night and really didn't feel like doing the whole dry twist out thing, so I just washed it using the Tea Tree Wen cleanser and then blew it out and prayed that when I woke up, I could do something with it. I thought I would post a picture of my hair wet (with conditioner in it) because I haven't done that in a while. While I know my hair is growing, since it curls so tight, it doesn't seem like it to me when it is wet. The next set of pictures is my attempt to do something with my hair this morning at 6 a.m. I'll call it a big ol' poof. I'll prolly rock a neater version of this 'do again tomorrow, because I am lazy!
